Signs your garage door needs a service
Is your garage door acting up? Making strange noises or just not moving quite right?
When was the last time you had it serviced? It may be a sign that your door needs to be looked at by a professional and serviced to get everything working as it should. Here are a few signs you should look out for:
Unusual noises
If your door is making strange sounds like grinding, squeaking, buzzing or humming, it could be a sign that the rollers, hinges, or springs need lubrication or replacement, or that the motor is unhappy
Difficulty opening or closing
If the door becomes difficult to open or close (manually or with the opener), or it's getting stuck, it could be a problem with the springs, motor, or the door’s alignment
Slow or uneven movement
If your door is moving sluggishly or unevenly, this may indicate issues with the tracks or rollers. If there is an open gap on one side when you close it, this could mean the door is unbalanced
Excessive shaking or vibrating
If your garage door shakes or vibrates too much during operation, it's likely a sign that something's loose or misaligned with the tracks, springs or rollers
If you’re noticing any of these signs, don’t wait — schedule a service before things get worse, risking damage to the door and motor or sudden failure, which has the potential to be very dangerous for you, your loved ones and your belongings.
